Memory Archive
Synthmonk
“Memory Archive” from composer and sound designer Synthmonk, explores melancholic remorse through its sprawling modular synth sequences; created entirely with Synthmonk’s own recording archive and combined with our flagship Kontakt instrument Pangea. Hazy, pulsating synth pads, distorted leads, and slow, hypnotic arpeggios create a woozy, dreamlike atmosphere, often enhanced by the warmth and character of vintage cassette tape processing. Crumbling synth tones yawn into abysses of distorted reverb, gritty church organs groan, and toylike synth motifs twinkle innocently, concocting a striking emotional resonance. Blending gothic and shoegaze influences with a touch of vintage sci-fi, “Memory Archive” delivers nostalgic soundscapes perfect for evoking bleak moments of realisation, austere ceremony, and electronic mourning.
