Twisted synth loops collide with pulsating rhythms and ominous drones, evoking the relentless churn of machinery and the oppressive atmosphere of a surveillance state. Simms utilises a unique blend of analog and digital tools, including Make Noise and Malekko Heavy Industry modular synthesizers, a vintage Uher tape machine, and the Roland RE-201 Space Echo. “Modular AI” is a sonic toolbox for crafting dystopian dreamscapes and industrial nightmares.
