But, ‘Parabellum’ is more than just unsettling cello textures. Mair masterfully blends Klouda’s performance with his signature aesthetic of gritty, distorted sound design and spacious, atmospheric beds. Moody soundscapes, punctuated by brittle harmonics and driving marches, escalate the tension, culminating in a fearless, heart-stopping battle cry.
